Child Coloring In Classroom With Teacher Support

Is Your Child’s Growth Not Matching Their Effort?

When development or results in school slow down, the first fix is often applying more effort. But if your child is struggling with executive functioning then more effort simply won’t result in better results. Instead of seeing improvement you’ll find:

  • Tasks go unfinished no matter how many reminders or notes you give.
  • Your child will struggle to follow or remember instructions.
  • Grades dip despite additional tutoring, study, and time spent working.
  • It’s a struggle for your child to focus on a task or topic.
  • Your child can’t adapt quickly to new situations or make smooth transitions.

These challenges are often misunderstood as motivation or behavior issues, when in reality they reflect gaps in executive functioning. Without the right strategies, children can feel burnt out and misunderstood and parents become frustrated and confused.

With The TEACH Group there’s a better way.

Executive functioning skills can be taught and strengthened with the right structure and support.

The TEACH Group uses an interdisciplinary approach that draws from behavioral, psychological, speech, and occupational therapy expertise. Children learn strategies that help them plan, organize, monitor their actions, and regulate emotions in real life situations.

Rather than focusing on short term fixes, this program equips children with tools they can use now and in the future.

How Our Executive Functioning Program Works

Evaluation and Program Intake

The executive functioning evaluation uses behavior rating scales completed by parents, teachers, and when appropriate, the child. These results help identify areas for growth and which executive functioning skills need to be addressed.

The process begins with an intake appointment with our Executive Functioning Coordinator, where families receive education about executive functioning and materials related to the program. Our team helps you set realistic and achievable goals that will guide therapy goals and planning across disciplines.

A Team Based and Collaborative Model

Children in the executive functioning classes are supported by a coordinated team. They participate in activities, training sessions, and therapy work that helps build meaningful progress toward your family’s goals. We follow your child’s individualized education program, ensuring they receive tailored care.

Internally, our executive functioning team meets in group sessions weekly to review progress, adjust goals, and ensure strategies remain effective. We also share new learnings from the executive functioning classes and the industry. This collaboration helps maintain consistency and forward momentum.

Motivation and Skill Building for Long Term Success

The Executive Functioning Program is designed to build skills that last, not quick fixes. Motivation is supported through thoughtful incentives that encourage participation and effort while children learn new strategies. Over time, the focus shifts from external rewards to internal confidence, helping children recognize progress, apply strategies independently, and build habits that support long term success.

Ongoing support is a core part of the program. The executive functioning team regularly reviews progress and adjusts goals to meet changing needs. Parents receive continued coaching and check ins to support skill carry over at home, while teachers or other caregivers may be included to reinforce strategies across settings. This collaborative approach helps children use executive functioning skills consistently in daily life.
