This workshop discusses how to engage your children who may struggle with reading due to dyslexia, attention deficits, or other factors that impact your reading time with them. We go over the definition of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), symptoms you could see within different types of ADHD and/or combined, and how those symptoms affect the components involved in reading. We talk about different strategies and activities that can be implemented to keep their brains engaged, happy, and active during reading. We end this workshop discussing self-advocacy statements your child can use to support themselves in other environments such as school when they are struggling.
