Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is a way to provide access to functional communication and support its development. This workshop provides examples of various forms of AAC and their benefits, including increasing confidence in communication and encouraging social interaction. It also explains strategies for using AAC systems at home to build communication skills, and discusses common misconceptions about AAC use.
